An evening of shopping, Prosecco and light bites were enjoyed by the nearly 75 attendees of Greenwich Education Group School’s Foundation fundraising event held at the Vince store on Greenwich Avenue on Oct. 14. The event was also co-sponsored by Serendipity Magazine.
Guests enjoyed trying on new fall and winter designs, knowing that a portion of the evening’s proceeds will directly support scholarships and grants to help underserved students in local communities attend Beacon, Spire, and Pinnacle Schools. All three accredited schools provide engaged, student-centered, individualized education to children, teens and young adults from all backgrounds.
“Vince is delighted to support the efforts of Greenwich Education Group School’s Foundation in its mission to provide financial aid to students in need,” said Jill Granoff, CEO of Vince, who attended the event “As a member of the Greenwich community, I am proud to be able to give back to an organization which does such wonderful things for our children and community,”
Ann Lockyer, a Beacon student parent who attended the event with friends, said: “My son has been attending Beacon, and we have been incredibly impressed with the program, staff and quality of education. It is also fabulous of Vince to provide a chance to view their winter clothing for men, women, and children.” She added that the occasion afforded an opportunity to spend time with other supporters of the GEG programs who want to help deserving students attend Beacon and the other GEG schools.
The mission of the Greenwich Education Group’s School Foundation is to offer financial aid for qualified students. Scholarships are awarded annually to students regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin or disability.
As Victoria Newman, Founder and Executive Director of Greenwich Education Group, said: “The Foundation is a key part of our mission of bringing high quality and individualized education to students, resulting in the best academic experience possible. We are grateful for the support of everyone who attended this event and we will be able to give some very worthy students opportunities to excel in our highly supportive and innovative programs.”
